I think the idea to handle them in as a group is a good idea. Still not sure how to reply to your Blog page from the
page, but please put me on the list for a firm
mattress, and electric kettle please. Also let me know what
I need to do to follow up on that once you have the
numbers? Thanks for taking the lead on this, I haven't
had time to do much more that worry about my back!!
For me the firm mattress is a definite as I know my back will not sustain three years of a foam mattress. We could possibly do on a bulk buying trip ahead of the retreat beginning.

The dormiory will definitely be warmer than the chalets as I have been told the chalet leaks! and the cold winds gets in.

A good thick curtains to stop the drafts was highly recommended, which I intend to get when there.

A nice down sleepbag to keep warm overnight and to wrap around whilst meditating during the day.

In response to:Welcome to RETREAT2006

Thanks for doing this Boon - it is very new to me also.
As I have not been to LL I have no idea what is need, what is possible to bring. I have applied to live in the dormitory so would dearly love to know what will be there.
eg bedside table/drawers, lamp, power point, floor covering endless - details especially any hints about how to keep warm.
Bulk buys - mediation cushion (why carry such a bulky item)

In response to:Firm Mattress
Boon, let's concentrate on the mattress and get our locals like Carl and Jeremy to see what is possible. I got a good mattress here from Ikea, and also a cleaned second hand one from Salvation Army - really good quality. Could be something similar in France??

My main concerns are the other stuff - health insurance, visa, etc. How to balance the money the French will want in the bank account for the visa, with then we have to post it to LL for the fees.
